Unfortunately for me manufacturers no longer provide Windows 95 drivers for most newer devices, or if they do they install a mess of software that often requires IE. As such I am very cautious about what hardware I add to my computer. From using flash drives on other computers I have discovered how incredibly useful.

There are about a thousand ways to do this, so just try Google. If you see C: >, then it has successfully booted. Part 4: Making your USB drive bootable 1. Boot from your MS-DOS CD. Determine what drive letter is your USB drive (e.g. If you don't know, type C: and push ENTER. At C:>, type FORMAT C: and press ENTER.

It will ask you if you want to continue. When it is done, type SYS C: and press ENTER. When that's done, you can shut your computer down. You can now try to boot your computer from your USB drive. Copy all of the files from your Windows 95 CD to the WIN95 folder on your USB drive. Make sure one of the files is SETUP.EXE. Part 6: Installing Windows 1. Boot your computer from your USB drive again.

When you see C:>, type: CD WIN95 and press ENTER. Type: SETUP and press ENTER. Just go through the setup as normal, when it's done, just restart. I still like the screaming Windows 1.0 and Win XP commercials more, though, It will only work with drives over 2 GB if yo have a 2 GB or lower partition on it. For example: Partition #1: FAT16 - Windows 95 Stuff Partition #2: FAT32 - Other Stuff Windows 95 can regconize FAT32 partitions, it just can't boot from them.

From my knowledge. I used to have Windows 95 and tbh would love to use it on real hardware again, or better yet, real hardware that's easily 15 billion times more powerful than what I ran Win95 on back in the '90s And the Windows 1.0 commercial. Best, commercial, ever. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!

WINDOWS 1.0 HAS REVERSI!!! Except in Nebraska! I tried it on my Dad's Toshiba NB205 netbook, and it rocks so hard. It starts up in like 8 seconds and is much more responsive than the XP crap on that machine.

I only use Notepad and DOS game emulators, but it runs all of them extremely well. The only catch was that at first it gave me an error that there was not enough memory, when there was actually to much (1 GB). I looked up and all it took was editing adding a line in the system.ini file and it started normal. Apparently it limits Windows' memory to about 700 MB, but that's the equivalent of about 4 GB of memory in Ubuntu.
