If you want this camera set up for English, it seems you have to buy it in Europe. I purchased this camera yesterday in Tokyo where a very helpful clerk at Bic Camera informed me that Panasonic (and Sony, I think?) now makes two separate language-versions of their small digital cameras--unlike Canon, Fuji, and the other brands that continue to provide multilingual navigation in their cameras. So you definitely want to make sure the one you buy is for the English-speaking-reading market. Let me also note that the photo for the 'silver' version does not do it anywhere near justice.
While the camera is mostly matte black--a beautiful matte black, I might add--the silver parts are more like gun-metal.
